Keith Haring was an American artist and social activist whose instantly recognizable visual language transformed the landscape of contemporary art in the 1980s. Best known for his bold line drawings, radiant figures, barking dogs, and dancing characters, Haring created a universal symbolic vocabulary that explored themes of love, unity, sexuality, social justice, activism, and the human experience. Throughout his career, Haring exhibited internationally at major galleries and museums, including the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. His work is held in significant public collections worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA), and the Tate.
