Yayoi Kusama is a Japanese contemporary artist internationally recognized for her immersive installations, iconic polka dot motifs, Infinity Mirror Rooms, and groundbreaking contributions to painting, sculpture, installation, and performance art. Widely regarded as one of the most influential artists of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, Kusama has developed a distinctive visual language centered on repetition, infinity, self-obliteration, and the relationship between the individual and the universe.
